The property was surrounded by countryside fields, streams, and woodland which, while beautiful is a breeding ground for all manner of creepy crawlies. The homeowners wanted to leave their bifold doors open to allow fresh air to flow into the property – but that risks inviting insects into their living space.
How were they to enjoy sitting out with the doors open knowing that insects could flood the house at any moment? The bugs ruined the tranquillity of the outdoor living they’d worked so hard to create.

The Phantom Screens team responded promptly, thoroughly discussing the project’s requirements, conducting a home survey to gain precise measurements, and providing expert advice.
A power screen with white framework was handcrafted and retrofitted in the living room. The screen came in Phantom Screens’ 18-14 black insect mesh – the best material for optimum air flow and visibility.
The aluminium framework was powder coated in RAL 9003 (matt). This was chosen by the homeowners as it blends in perfectly with the white walls, making the screen look as though it has always been there.
