A Hybrid Approach with Distinction XL as the Star
Our customer’s primary concern was insect protection, particularly given the proximity of their new home to natural habitats that could easily lead to an influx of bugs.
After carefully assessing their needs, we recommended and installed a combination of our top-performing screens: five Distinction XL screens, two Serene screens for windows, and one Legacy screen.
This hybrid approach provided comprehensive protection across their garden-facing doors and windows.

Distinction XL Screens for Large Openings
Our handcrafted Distinction XL screens are designed to cover large doors and windows, making them perfect for this property’s expansive glass conservatory. The screens allow for bug-free ventilation, helping to manage the heat that often builds up in spaces designed to maximize natural light. Distinction screens were also fitted across the bedroom and ensuite windows, all facing the garden, ensuring that the home remains a peaceful retreat from the outside world.
What sets the Distinction screens apart is their pleated concertina design, inspired by the Japanese tradition of compact and efficient design. This innovative approach not only adds a touch of elegance but also makes the screens easy to use and store when not in use.
Serene and Legacy Screens for Added Protection
In addition to the Distinction XL screens, we installed two Serene manual window screens on smaller windows flanking the conservatory’s large sliding door. These screens provide additional ventilation, contributing to a comfortable indoor environment throughout the year and helping reduce reliance on air conditioning.
To complete the installation, a Legacy screen was added to the lounge door, offering another layer of insect protection and maintaining the aesthetic continuity across the property.
Blending Design with Functionality
With a keen eye for quality design, our customer was eager to ensure that the screens complemented their home’s existing architecture. Our team expertly colour-matched the screens to the property’s frames, making them virtually invisible when deployed. The standard 18:14 insect mesh was chosen to ensure that the stunning garden views remained unobstructed.
