From the outset, our design team worked closely with the builders to plan a fully integrated solar screen into the new structure. By recessing the housing and side rails during the build, the screen would be hidden when not in use, leaving only the fine mesh visible when deployed.
The chosen specification – a recessed motorised solar screen – combines the latest technology with minimal visual impact. Operated at the touch of a button, the screen lowers smoothly to cover the entire sliding door span, providing shade, UV protection and insect control in one.

In addition to the standard remote-control operation, the homeowners opted for a discreet wall switch positioned between the sliding door solar screen and the garden – allowing them to operate it from outside during barbecues or garden gatherings.
