An unexpected shortcoming of having lots of large glazing is the uncomfortably stuffy heat that can build up in a property.
The homeowners wanted to enjoy the sunshine and beautiful ocean breeze from their large doors and windows. However, they were advised by their architect that without external solar screens, it would become unbearably hot in the summer.
Their architect knew of Phantom Screens and suggested that our power screens with solar mesh (or solar screens as we call them!) would be an appropriate solution to prevent overheating in their brand-new home.
Installation
Fitting solar screens at High-end coastal home
A total of seven remote-controlled power screens were installed (3 x 2.7m wide and 4 x 2.4m wide) across the coastal property. The aluminium frames were colour-matched to the existing door frames – precisely – ensuring a discreet external aesthetic.
High-performance solar screen fabric was specified for multiple screens positioned strategically around the property. Our sales specialists recommended black 20/30 mesh – a specific solar fabric that blocks up to 65% of UV rays.
An external fitting provided the greatest solar performance value and meant that this slightly finer mesh could be used to preserve gorgeous views of the seaside landscape.
