Smooth operator
Our door screens use a soft glide closing system to carefully retract out of view when not in use and are installed with latching handles for ease of use. When deployed, they provide a near invisible barrier to bugs, retaining uninterrupted views. Legacy door fly screens are normally fitted with insect mesh that also blocks up to 55% of UV rays, reducing the harsh glare of the sun and helping to cool and protect interiors.

Our insect mesh is made of tough stuff and is completely weatherproof, meaning peace of mind if screens remain in place during a summer shower. While enforcing a strict no entry system for flies and wasps, Phantom Screens’ insect mesh is designed to leave the guide track if accidentally pushed – quickly returning and operating as normal. This helps prevent damage to the mesh and aids the overall longevity of your screens.

Self-building?
Did you know, manually operated screens are now considered building materials for VAT purposes and can be zero-rated when installed in a qualifying build. Screens must be fitted by us during the construction phase – before the building has been completed. Discover more on our self builders page.

- All Phantom fly screens for doors come with a Phantom Limited Two Year Warranty to make sure that you are completely satisfied with our products.
- The warranty covers the screens (fitted by Phantom-trained local design and fitting experts, for the original owner). It cannot be transferred to new homeowners and the screens will not be covered if they are moved to a new address.
- The warranty covers the paint finish and mechanical parts of the screen but not the mesh itself. The mesh of your Phantom Screen is a serviceable part and will eventually need to be replaced. This can be organised with your local design and fitting expert.
- Call out, labour and fitting of warrantied parts is not covered by this warranty.
Sizing
Legacy door screens fit door openings 2.4m wide x 3m high. The maximum width for a single door is 1.22m wide. Our insect screens for doors will work with French doors, patio doors and conservatory doors.
Legacy screens have a low-profile monorail track (25mm) and slimline side housings (50mm). A spring tension system keeps the superfine mesh taught, giving a flat, ripple-free view, while the monorail track, which holds the fly screen door mesh in place without the need for a bulky floor track or ugly black fabric seal which can become clogged with dirt.

Insect management functionality
Legacy insect screens for doors are normally fitted with standard stiffened 18/14 insect mesh in charcoal. This mesh will also block 55% of UV rays and so does provide some solar management. This is the ideal mesh to block insects, provide ventilation and not impact your view. However, please talk to us if you require something different.
