Phantom Screens’ manual fly screens for doors are designed to fit seamlessly with any door type, whether it opens inwards or outwards, slides, folds, or is a stable door.

We have two different door screens – the Legacy and the Distinction.

The Legacy is a standard mesh door screen that is suitable for standard sized doors up to 2.44m wide and 3m high.

The Distinction is a pleated door screen suitable for doors of up to 9m wide (this would be a double door feature of 4.5m each side, meeting in the middle when closed). These screens can be used on smaller doors as well if you prefer this style.

If you have a larger door, then the pleated will be the best solution for you. 

Our mesh is designed to keep insects out without impacting your view of the outdoors. When we come out to survey (which is required to be able to provide a bespoke quote) we will bring samples of the mesh with us so you can see how this will look.

All our screens come with low-profile housing, which can be colour matched to your doors (we can even match wood grain!) and our screens fully retract when not in use.

Poorly fitted off-the-shelf screens can have a negative effect on the look of your windows, but we carefully design ours to blend in, so your house will still look beautiful. You’ll just be able to enjoy it even more without those pesky insects!

Both standard and pleated door screens’ framework can be painted to match any RAL colour. There are also three wood grain options available for standard door screens (Oak, Medium Oak, and Rosewood). These customisation options ensure that the screens blend in with your current window frames to look as though they’ve always been there.

For our standard door screens, we recommend stiffened 18/14 mesh, which provides total insect protection and up to 55% solar shading.

Our pleated screens are only available in the pleated insect 18/16 mesh, this also provides total insect protection and up to 55% solar shading.

Phantom Screens are each made bespoke for your door or window’s specific requirements. This means that there is no ‘one size fits all’ – each fitting is as bespoke as the screen! They can be fitted internally or externally depending on which way your door or window opens and what you want your screen to achieve.

In some cases, we collaborate with your architect, door company, or other specialists to develop a tailored solution, ensuring our premium insect screens are seamlessly integrated into your home’s design.

Phantom Screens are often used to stop cats and dogs getting outside. While many of our customers have found screens to be an effective solution for keeping pets inside, others have not. It ultimately depends on how tenacious your pet is. No screen is 100% claw resistant, so we cannot guarantee that they will be an effective barrier for all pets.

We do have a particular mesh type which is recommended for pet protection – this is exclusive to power screens.

Our manual door screens are simply operated using the integrated handle. Each screen has a soft close system, so they open and close super smoothly and gently.

We also have a range of automated screens which are operated by remote control, button or voice command.

To clean the cassette/housing simply wipe down using a non-abrasive, household detergent and a soft cloth or sponge.

To clean the mesh, use a vacuum cleaner with a brush attachment to remove debris and then wipe down with a soft, damp cloth.
