Power screens

Our automated power screens deliver style and substance, effectively managing home climate control by regulating glare, heat build, ventilation and insect ingress on large openings such as bifold and sliding doors.

Motorised screens can be fitted to existing openings but work best when fully recessed and integrated into your property as a ‘captured, four-sided’ product – completely disappearing when not in use. More options are available for an internal fitting – just speak to our sales teams to find out more.

Screen metalwork can be finished in any RAL colour too, matching your décor and integrating seamlessly and beautifully into the home. Screens can be fitted in 4 to 6 weeks from survey.

We contacted Phantom Screens to add fly screens to our winter garden. We were looking for a bespoke solution that would fit the existing look of the room but also be robust enough to prevent our cat from jumping off the windows when open. We are very happy to say that they delivered on all of these points with full marks. From the start, they were very professional as they provided us with various options for our slightly odd situation. They then sent an engineer our way to assess the situation in person and provide a more detailed quote. After that, a second visit was arranged to take samples of the colour of the windows, as well as precise measurements to install some supports that were needed to run the guides on the sides of the windows. On the day of the installation, the two engineers took just shy of three hours to do an impeccable job - they performed the work without any mess and with minor to no disruption to us. The end result is even better than what we were expecting! The screens look like they were there from the beginning, and they disappear with the rest of the window when they are closed. Even when open, they don't take too much light away from the room, which is an added bonus. Plus, they feel sturdy enough to keep our cat from jumping off the window. They also went the extra mile by installing a metallic cover at the bottom of the balustrade to cover a gap that our cat would be able to sneak through - effectively making the screens useless. Overall, a very professional and positive experience that's totally worth the cost (which itself is not exceedingly high either). Highly recommended! Fabulous product! I have been waiting a few months as it is made to measure but was definitely worth the wait, so looking forward to using next summer. We recently had more screens added to our windows, we'll be adding one to the patio door next year. The screens really are excellent, the service from start to finish was faultless. Jamie, who fitted all the screens we've got, has done a great job. I would thoroughly recommend this company and product if you want windows open without any uninvited guests.

Power Screens start at £933 inc. VAT per metre width, fully fitted.

Sizing
Individual power screens fit openings up to 12m wide x 4.8m high

Solar functionality
Our power screens are available with solar shading mesh which can provide between 40% and 80% block to stop the harmful UV rays from damaging fabrics and furnishings. Available in multiple colours. Thermal comfort gains are made by retaining heat in the evenings while deflecting energy during the day – helping to improve SAP ratings.

Privacy functionality
Our privacy meshes are available in multiple colours and block up to 95% of UV rays.

Insect control functionality
Our insect meshes block up to 55% UV rays and are available in charcoal or silver grey.

Ceiling pocket space requirements for recessed fitting
Depending on the screen width, either a 4 or 5-inch diameter roller tube will be used. The 4-inch tube requires a pocket space of 140mm wide x 230mm height and the 5-inch tube requires a pocket space of 203mm x 290mm.

Head box and side-track dimensions
The headbox is 140mm x 140mm and side-track 35mm x 35mm.

Motor type
The motor is a 230v spec that requires a dedicated switched fuse spur. A 50mm tubular motor is housed inside the roller tube of the screen. There are no external additional boxes or components.

  • All Phantom Power Screens come with a Phantom Limited two year Warranty to make sure that you are completely satisfied with our products.
  • The warranty covers the screens (fitted by Phantom-trained local design and fitting experts, for the original owner). It cannot be transferred to new homeowners and the screens will not be covered if they are moved to a new address.
  • The warranty covers the paint finish and mechanical parts of the screen but not the mesh itself. The mesh of your Phantom Screen is a serviceable part and will eventually need to be replaced. This can be organised with your local design and fitting expert.
  • Call out, labour and fitting of warrantied parts is not covered by this warranty.
  • For the Executive system, the warranty also covers the motors for 2 years and this is backed up by the manufacturer.
