They had decided that rather than look for a new property, they would rebuild from scratch at the existing location and create their dream home on a plot they loved

Phantom worked with the architect on this project throughout the build process to develop a solution that would help meet the needs of the homeowners for years to come. Knowing that a shading solution would be required, and exploring their options, the customers first met Phantom Screens at a Grand Designs show in London.

The living space at the rear of the property runs the full height of the house and allows additional light to pour in from a series of large upper windows. The property was designed to carefully manage solar gain and includes purpose built overhangs to create shade.

The full screen specification runs to ten recessed Executive Power Screens – four large door screens on the ground floor and six installed on windows on the upper level – all to meet a solar control brief, with the added benefit of course of preventing insects from entering the property.

The 20:30 black solar mesh manages heat build and glare – keeping the house cool in hot weather – but allows our customers to retain views to the beautiful garden and enjoy privacy from anyone looking in.

Visitors to our customer’s house have commented on the Solar Screens and the homeowners are pleased with their performance and quality, remarking that they were ‘the best part of the project’!
