Better by design
Planning in screens or blinds into the design of the home provides more freedom with installation – including the option to have recessed screens.
Integrating screens into your home during the build process means they can be hidden away when not in use, creating a slick look. This is very popular with modern homeowners, design geeks, and lovers of home automation.
Not ready until after the build? Don’t worry! All Phantom Screens and blinds can be retro-fitted to existing doors and windows.
Beat the heat
Screens for solar shading reduce excessive heat build, harsh solar glare, and prevent solar staining, giving you greater climate control and helping your furniture last longer.
All new residential buildings must now comply with Part O (overheating) building regulations. This means new homes must be designed to prevent overheating through acceptable strategies laid out in the Part O regulations.
External Solar Screens (fitted on the outside of the glass door or window) are approved under Part O as a suitable method of limiting solar gains and preventing overheating. Read more here.

Why you need insect screens
Screens for insect protection allow you to ventilate your home with natural, fresh air whilst keeping the bugs outside. Screens prevent insects, spiders, dust, allergens, cob webs and more from entering your home. This helps to reduce harmful germs and bacteria brought in by flies and keeps your home more hygienic.
Among the additional benefits of screens is increased solar management – helping you reduce solar gains, glare, staining and excessive heat build. Learn more on our shading and ventilation page.
Did you know? As you enjoy natural ventilation with your doors and windows open, screens can also help you save on air conditioning bills and reduce your carbon footprint! For this reason, they are extremely popular in energy efficient properties, including ones which follow Passive House (Passivhaus) building standards.
By installing screens, you’re future proofing and investing in your home. Want to know more about insect screens? Read our blog post for more details.
