AUTOMATED SOLAR PROTECTION BLINDS
The stunning open-plan kitchen has a modern feel to it and overlooks a large north-facing garden. The roof lights above the sliding doors are an integral part of the design of this room. This set of glazing provides extra light, which is often desirable in north-facing properties.
However, the homeowners understood that with the joys of additional natural light come issues of harsh solar glare and excessive heat build. Seeking solar control and knowing that Phantom Screens are shading experts, they came to us.
Three power blinds were the solution that provided the integrated solar management our customer was looking for. The roof light blinds are 1922 x 1872 each and are a subtle yet effective addition to the room.
Installation
FULLY FITTED BLINDS and screens
Powered by the Somfy RTS remote control, the blinds can be deployed at the press of a button. Blinds can also be colour-matched to a property’s existing frames to ensure they blend in perfectly – in this instance, Jet Black (RAL 9005 Satin) was used.
The other product we installed was an executive power screen, which was retrofitted to a set of large sliding doors. Our customer chose our 18/14 insect mesh in black – although its primary purpose is insect protection, it also provides a 55% UV block. This helps alleviate unwanted heat build, and bug-free natural ventilation can be enjoyed with an unspoilt view of the wonderful garden.

Home to two beautiful German Shepherds, it was important to note that Phantom Screens are pet-friendly and won’t interrupt the lives of resident dogs or cats. With the press of a button, our screens will open or close, allowing pets to wander in and out of the house with ease.
